Shanghai-based designer Ziggy Chen’s complex cuts and silhouettes represent a new generation of Chinese fashion design. Seeing the collision of west and east cultures, Chen creates strikingly minimalist pieces with traditional design aesthetics. This approach echoes the Chinese philosophy – Taoism, which can always inspire and empower him.

In his latest worldwide exclusive collaboration with Lane Crawford, Chen was inspired to create a timeless summer wardrobe for urban men that, despite being all-black (his signature colour), is versatile enough to work for different occasions and moods.

“Reversible elements and detachable details are key in this collection,” says the textile-obsessed designer, “as they allow the wearer to make adjustments based on where he goes and what he does. I’ve also used crispy high-dense cotton and soft cotton and linen fabric to create a subtle contrast that gives depth and richness to the collection.”

From April 26, Lane Crawford will showcase a specially curated edit of worldwide exclusive fashion, must-have lifestyle and the hottest beauty looks in store and online, with more than 70 styles from over 20 brands that embody the sizzling energy of Miami. 


Lane Crawford and The Webster has invited a line-up of new brands such as Courreges, Gul Hurgel, Olympia Le Tan, Paco Rabanne, RetroSuperFuture, Saint James, Saloni, Seed and Stereo Vinyl; brands from Lane Crawford’s current portfolio including Bonpoint, Coach, Dior Beauty, Ellery, FRS, Ground Zero, Lisa Marie Fernandez, Maison Michel, Master & Dynamic, Mira Mikati, Orlebar Brown, Palm Angels, Proenza Schouler, Rosie Assoulin, Sandrine Rose, Solid and Striped, Tibi, Tortoise, Thom Browne and Vilebrequin, as well as influencers across fashion, lifestyle and beauty to join the Miami Fever.

The pop-up stores in Lane Crawford will feature captivating visual merchandising displays as well as artistic installations to transport customers to South Beach, Miami. A tropical art deco inspired beach club installation including neon signs, straw beach huts, oversized, brightly coloured palm trees and inflatable flamingos highlight The Webster’s curated selection of South Beach-inspired fashion and lifestyle offerings. Laure Hériard-Dubreuil will host a cocktail event to celebrate the pop-up stores at Lane Crawford ifc mall on May 10.

Founded by Yoon Chun Ho, emerging Korean brand YCH presents collections brimming with interesting, bright colour combinations, bold prints and rebellious punk aesthetic. YCH filled the runway with unique details such as the signature slits and mesh pleats. The SS17 Collection, ‘What a lovely war’, reinterpreted military looks with a romantic touch. Focusing on graphical elements, YCH developed its own camouflage pattern with heart symbols - the brand seeks for trendiness with a touch of punk, feminine and street mood.

Established by decoupage artist John Derian in 1989, John Derian Company Inc is known for its plates, platters, paperweights, coasters and bowls decorated with his signature paper cut-out style. John combines his love for painting and craft, he began to work with artisans to develop reprints from his personal archives of 18th and 19th-century images, mostly sourced from dealers, antique bookshops and flea market during his travel. Handmade in John’s New York studio, each design is embellished using decoupage techniques to create decorative pieces such as paperweights and trays that will bring charm and character to your interior space.

Heavily influenced by music, fashion and culture from the past and present, MAGIC STICK’s bold aesthetic features statement graphics, prints and slouchy, oversized staples. As one of the cult Japanese streetwear label, MAGIC STICK recreates the great time of the 90’s through its clean design. 

Inspired by Francis Ford Coppola’s classic war film "Apocalypse Now", the SS17 collection is entitled "Death from Above”. Mixing up oversized fittings with materials sourced from the period of Vietnam War, the new collection integrates signature urban military aesthetic into street. For instance, dazzle camouflage pattern is used extensively nowadays, which was first introduced on Battleships during World War 1. A style infused take on a casual classic, MAGIC STICK doesn’t feel compelled to follow fast fashion trends, instead it moves towards simple silhouettes that never get outdated.
